article, we would like to introduce you some wonderful prescriptions for dispelling
this irritable syndrome.
Prescription 1
Indications:
Sudden onset of pain and stiffness in
neck, shoulder or arm; muscle strain
or sprain, particularly the levator scapula muscle; lack of coordination in
the arms and legs; thin and white tongue coating; edema.
Herb formula: Ephedra Decoction (Ma Huang Tang)
Ephedra stem
(Herba Ephedrae) 16g, Licorice 8g, Cinnamon twig (Ramulus Cinnamomi) 8g,
Divaricate saposhnikovia root (Radix Saposhnikoviae) 20g, Bitter apricot seed
(Semen Armeniacae Amarum) 16g, Angelica root (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae) 24g.
Cut ephedra stem into small segments and then toast with honey. Draw out the
xylem of cinnamon twig by rubbing. Decoct
in 1,200 ml of water. Divide the extracted fluid into 5 doses, 4 doses for
daytime and 1 dose for nighttime.
Prescription 2
Indications: Soreness in shoulders and arms, chest
pain, dyspnea, wheezing or coughing with phlegm, fearful throbbing, unexpected
weight loss, pale face, thick and greasy tongue coating.
Herb
formula: Remove Painful Obstruction Decoction (Juan Bi Tang)
Chinese
angelica root (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) 16g, Fresh ginger root (Rhizoma
Zingiberis Recens) 8g, Red paeony root (Radix Paeoniae Rubra) 12g, Mongolian
milkcetch root (Radix Astragali) 12g, Grassleaf sweelflag rhizome (Rhizoma
Acori Tatarinowii) 8g, Incised notopterygium rhizome and root (Rhizoma
Notopterygii) 16g, Spina date seed (Semen Ziziphi Spinosae) 10g, Chinese senega
root (Cortex et Radix Polygalae) 8g, Divaricate saposhnikovia root (Radix
Saposhnikoviae) 16g, Platycodon root (Radix Platycodi) 12g, 7 fruits of Chinese
date. Exfoliate the core of Chinese senega root. Chinese date needs to be
broken before decoction for a better effect. Decoct in 1,800 ml of water to get 250ml of the extract. Drink
warm, 5 times in a day.
Combine with
massage and acupressure to support the treatment.
